Our work in Orono

Orono homeowners searching for junk removal get a lot of options online. Most of them are national franchises routing your call through a call center somewhere in Ohio. Junk Genius is different: Mike Reimann has been running crews out of Minneapolis for about 15 years, holds MN License #3772090-2, and has stacked up 1,987 Google reviews at a 4.9-star average because the work actually gets done right. One call to (612) 444-5865 and we'll get you on the schedule, often same week.

Orono sits right on the north shore of Lake Minnetonka, and we know the territory well. Whether you're clearing out a lake cabin that's been accumulating gear since the nineties, dealing with a garage full of someone else's furniture after an estate transfer, or just finally hauling off that old riding mower that hasn't started since 2018, we run crews to Orono regularly. We serve the whole stretch from downtown Orono out through Long Lake and the neighborhoods along Crystal Bay. No extra trip charge, no runaround.

What We Haul

Everything Orono Homeowners Need Gone

From a single appliance to a full property cleanout, we handle it all in one trip.

Furniture Removal

Old sofas, sectionals, dining sets, dressers. We carry it all out. Doesn't matter if it's on the second floor or wedged in a basement. Our guys don't leave you with the heavy lifting.

Appliance Removal

Refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, we disconnect and haul. Orono homes near the lake tend to have old chest freezers in detached garages that have been 'getting around to it' for years. We get around to it fast. See our appliance removal service for details.

Garage and House Cleanouts

Full cleanouts are our most requested job in Orono. Inherited a property? Moving out? The crew loads everything, sweeps up, and leaves. You don't have to sort a single box if you don't want to.

Yard Debris and Outdoor Junk

Brush piles, storm-downed limbs, old sheds, broken patio furniture, Orono backyards accumulate fast, especially after a rough Minnesota winter. We haul it all.

Mattress Removal

Can't get the city to take your mattress? We can. Check out our mattress removal and disposal page for how we handle recycling responsibly.

Hot Tub Removal

Hot tub removal is a two-person job minimum, and most people find that out after they've already started. We bring the crew and the tools. You just point us to it.

Why Junk Genius

What Makes Us Worth Calling in Orono

1,987 Google reviews at 4.9 stars. That number didn't happen by accident.

There's no shortage of trucks offering to haul your stuff in the western suburbs. Here's what separates a 16-year Minnesota operation from someone who bought a pickup last spring.

Licensed MN Hauler: MN License #3772090-2 is posted because it's verifiable. Any hauler who won't show you a license number is a liability, not a bargain.
Minnesota Owned for about 15 years: Mike Reimann's name is on the business. Not a franchise. Not a call center. You're talking to the people who show up.
Crews Certified in Waste Management Safety and Recycling: Our crews hold MSW Hauling, Waste Management Safety, and Recycling Management certifications. That's not standard in this industry.
No Surprises on Price: Free estimates before we touch anything. The quote you get is the number you pay. We gotchu.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can Junk Genius get to Orono for a pickup?

Most Orono jobs get scheduled within the same week, and same-day pickup is possible depending on crew availability. Orono is a regular stop for us along the Lake Minnetonka corridor, so we're not making a special trip out there. Call (612) 444-5865 in the morning and there's a solid chance we can get to you before the week is out. We're open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Does Junk Genius charge extra to haul from lakefront or rural Orono properties?

No. Orono falls within our standard service area, and we don't add a surcharge for properties further from the road or on the lake side. If access is genuinely difficult, like a dock structure or a steep hillside, we'll talk through it during the free estimate so there are no surprises. What we quote is what you pay.

What should I do with items I want donated before the Orono crew arrives?

You don't have to sort anything in advance. Just point out what you want gone and let us know if there are specific pieces you'd like donated versus recycled. We'll separate them during the haul. We donate and recycle as much as we can whenever possible. You can also book a standalone donation pickup if that's all you need.

Can Junk Genius handle a full estate cleanout in Orono, including large items like a hot tub or shed?

Yes, and this comes up a lot with Orono properties. Older lakefront homes often have decades of accumulated furniture, appliances, outbuildings, and outdoor equipment. We bring the crew and equipment to handle all of it in one job, including hot tub removal and shed teardown plus haul. You don't need to hire multiple contractors. One call covers the whole property. If the scope is large, we'll do a walkthrough first so the estimate is accurate.

Does Junk Genius recycle electronics and appliances from Orono homes?

Yes. Appliances, TVs, computers, and other electronics get handled through responsible recycling channels, not just dropped at a landfill. Our crews hold Recycling Management certifications, and it shows in how we sort loads. Orono residents clearing out a home office or disposing of old appliances from a cabin don't have to figure out where e-waste goes, we handle that routing. Check the recycling center page for specifics on what we accept.

Is there a dumpster rental option for Orono DIY projects?

Yes. If you're doing a renovation or a staged cleanout over several days, a roll-off dumpster might make more sense than a full-service haul. We offer dumpster rental as a separate product for exactly that situation. It's a different buyer journey from full-service junk removal, so we keep them separate, but both options are available for Orono jobs. If you're not sure which fits your project, call us and we'll tell you honestly which one makes more sense.
